Abstract:Aiming to find out the problems in teaching English listening in junior middle school today and to put forward some suggestions on cross-cultural communicative English teaching, the author analyzes the current situations of present English listening teaching in junior schools and the importance of cultural background in English teaching by discussing the relationship between cultural difference and the feature of listening teaching. Hence, junior middle school students can benefit more from their English class and enhance their cross-cultural competence.
