Abstract: This paper tries to analyze different ways of translation of Chinese Internet neologisms into English from the perspective of Functional Equivalence theory and Skopos theory with the purpose to introduce this unique type of Chinese language into Western world. With the rapid development of globalization and China's economy, along with the popularization and development of computer and Internet technology, the Internet has penetrated in our lives, and the Internet neologisms have been used as a tool to communicate and exchange ideas, with a lively sense of humor and strong personal advantage springing up all over the daily lives, and increasingly changing people's habits and lifestyle. Internet neologism is popular on the Internet because of its convenient, fast, informative features and furthermore, the theme of it reflects some social hot spot.
