Abstract: Public signs are widely used in our daily lives and essential to the public and tourists.It is a special kind of writing style. It can be always seen in public places.However, there are many wrongly used public signs around us.Any abuse or ambiguity of public signs will cause undesirable consequences.A lot of shocking Public Signs’ Translating errors are still emerging. There are more and more errors in the translation of public signs.Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum is the typical representative of them.The paper will discuss the translation error of public sign in Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum.Also probes into its translation methods, in order to shed light on our understanding and translation of public signs.
