Abstract:Through the analysis of Obama's inaugural speech, Obama used a variety of language skills and strategies in his speech, which successfully achieved his political intention of encouraging the people to rebuild the United States, and also successfully shaped his image as a new generation of American leaders of "reform president". Through the analysis of Obama's inaugural speech, we can see that the language used by politicians is closely related to their political purpose, ideology and power. In political speech, the speaker will consciously use language to implement ideological control. The task of critical discourse analysis is to reveal the relationship between implicit language and ideology through the surface language form, and how the ruling class uses language to control and maintain their own power, so as to achieve the purpose of cultivating and improving readers' critical language awareness.
