摘要：近年来, 激发学生的学习兴趣已成为外语教学的重点之一。游戏教学法是把游戏的形式融于教学中的一种教学活动形式，有利于培养学生学习英语的兴趣。英语游戏就是课堂教学辅助方式和有效手段之一。英语游戏是深受学生欢迎的教学活动，它也是激发保持和提高学生学习兴趣的方式之一。英语游戏具有很强的实践性，游戏教学不仅有助于激发儿童的学习动机，还能提高儿童的学习兴趣，从而有利于儿童身心和智力的发展和提高课堂教学效果。本论文从儿童心理特点及游戏教学法的设计原则、种类等方面进行分析，证实了游戏教学法有利于提高小学英语课堂教学效果和有利于教师顺利的开展英语教学工作.
