教材内容分析 This unit is the fourth unit in the first volume of Grade 7 Go for it. It mainly focuses on the communicative function of “talking about where things are”. According to English Curriculum Standard, the topic of “talking about the position of objectives” is close to students’ daily life. So, students can easily learn the target language and they are more interested in participating in relevant activities. This unit consists of Section A and Section B. In Section A, students can learn how to describe the position of objects through pictures and recordings. They can correctly use the sentence patterns “Where is / Where are…? It’s / They’re ...”, as well as prepositions “in, on, under” to describe the position of objects. In the activity of la-1c, the topic of the whole unit and the key words and sentence patterns are introduced through various visual and audio exercises. Listening activities (2a-2b) aim to train students’ ability to extract key information from a passage. The activity in 2c consolidates the learning of yes/no questions. The purpose of 2d is to help students learn the sentence patterns in a relatively complete context. The grammar chart gives a summary of the rules of where questions. Section B introduces new vocabulary while reviewing the language points presented in Section A. The listening, speaking and writing activities of this section continue to reinforce the use of “where” questions and three positional phrases. The activities from 2a to 2c provide a reading task chain centering on 2b. The activity in 2a makes vocabulary preparation for the article “Where are Gina and Kate’s objects?” which help students develop a good habit of tiding up their belongs. The activity in 2c is to train students’ ability to extract useful information from articles. And the tasks from 3a to 3b are to train students to describe the position of objects. And the last part of this unit is self-check, which helps students review the knowledge.
