《公共演讲，发现你的声音》这本书对演讲各个方面进行了细致的研究，主要包括演讲的技巧，方法，以及演讲的注意点，演讲者和听众之间的关系等等，是一部对于演讲进行全面阐述的书籍。本次翻译实践节选了书中的第 8 章节。

第 8 章全面向读者展示了演讲者可以通过一些方法和技巧建立起和听众之间的联系。演讲者可以通过构建有威望的证词，事实和数据来吸引听众的注意。但是要特别注意的是，演讲者在使用事实和数据的时候，必须要学会去鉴别虚假的信息。如果许多听众怀疑演讲者的论点，由于信息来源的不可靠性，那么引用这样的消息就可能会让听众产生分歧。接下来用和演讲相关的大量的例子，故事以及支撑性的材料来验证演讲者的观点，以达到使观众产生共鸣的效果。整个章节的内容层层深入，结构清晰连贯，让读者对此章节有个全面清楚的了解。

翻译实践小论文分为四部分：第一部分简单介绍了翻译作品与翻译实践的目标。第二部分详述了翻译过程。第三部分仔细罗列了翻译过程中遇到的主要困难，并根据相关翻译理论探索解决方法。第四部分为总结。

INTRODUCTION

Public Speaking, Find Your Voice is a detailed study of all aspects of the speech skills, including presentation techniques, methods, and tips, the relationship between the speaker and the audience. It is a detailed description of how to make an excellent speech. Chapter 8 is chosen as the material of this translation practice.

Chapter 8 shows the reader how to establish a connection with the audience through a number of methods and techniques. It also provides instructions to the speaker about how to draw the audience attention by building credible testimony,  facts and data. But it is important to note that when using facts and data, speakers  must learn to identify false information. Citing such sources might divide audience if many listeners discredit speakers’ argument because of the source of the information. Next, speakers use a large number of examples, stories, and supporting materials related to the speech to verify speakers’ point of view to achieve a resonant effect on the audience. The content of the whole chapter is deep, the structure is clear and coherent, let the reader have a comprehensive and clear understanding of this chapter.

The essay on translation practice contains four parts. The first part briefly introduces the translation material and the aim of the translation practice. The second part describes the process of translation. In the third part, major problems of translation are discussed based on certain theories. Proper solutions are given due to the certain translation skills. The last part is conclusion.
