内容简介

“迦勒与基特”是美国作家贝丝·弗拉贝尔于 2007 年创作的一部青少年文学小说，主要集中在迦勒和基特之间的友谊上。迦勒是一个病态、敏感、自卑的男孩，渴望自由，想和基特做朋友的同时，又很矛盾。基特是一个充满活力、独立和自由的女孩，她使迦勒的世界瞬间发生了变化。由于生活环境的不同，两人之间也存在很多不同点。我选择了第 5-6 章，主要写的是迦勒在父亲家里发生了一些不愉快的事情。回家后，他去基特家找她并和她聊天。基特说服他不要去参加夏令营，要做一个独立的人。交谈中迦勒发现基特是一个自由、独立、并富有想象力的女孩，他非常羡慕基特。当他回家时，哥哥帕特里克找到了他，然后他的妈妈也知道了他没去露营事情。 

这两章的内容主要是以简洁的对话为主，又辅以迦勒的独白，一前一后对话让我们很轻易就进入到了迦勒和基特的森林世界中。 

在翻译的时候，我们更应该关注的是迦勒的内心世界，翻译的内容应该与迦勒的人物性格相一致。翻译时也要特别注意用儿童的阅读习惯去翻译，而不是用成人的阅读习惯进行直译。 

我的小论文里主要讲的是我在翻译短句子和跟说有关的动词时所遇到的各种困难和解决的办法，其中主要用到的是增译法，在简洁的介绍了增译法之后，又提及到了同学跟老师的帮助，希望对我译文的质量有一定的帮助。

INTRODUCTION 

Caleb and Kit is teenagers's literary novel written by American author Beth Vrabel in 2017. The novel mainly center on the friendship between Caleb and Kit. Caleb is a sickly, sensitive, self-contemptuous boy, he yearns for freedom, and wants to make friend with Kit, at the same time,he becomes very contradictory. Kit is a vibrant, independent, and free girl, she makes Caleb world changes instantly. They are very different due to the different living environment.

I choose the chapter 5-6 it focus on that some unhappy things in Caleb father's home. After returning home, he go to see Kit and chats. Kit persuades him not to go to the summer camp and to be an independent person. He find Kit is a  free,  independent, and imaginative girl, he was very envious of Kit. When he go home his brother find him and then his monther knows that he is not go to camp.

The contents of these two chapters are mainly concise dialogues, supplemented by Caleb's soliloquy, back and forth dialogue make the novel very smooth and easy to let us into the forest world of Caleb and Kit.

At the time of translation, we should focus on Caleb's inner world. The content of translation should be consistent with Caleb's personal character. When translating should also deliberately translate the child's reading habits, do not use adult habit to literal translation.

In my essay, I mainly talk about the difficulties and solutions I have encountered in translating short sentences and verbs related to “say”, in which I mainly use the method of amplification, after a brief introduction of the method of amplification, also mentioned the help of students and teachers, hoping to help my translation quality.
