INTRODUCTION

My paper is a translation report on the English-Chinese translation of chapter 2 and chapter 3 of My Not So Perfect Life which is written by Sophie Kinsella, a famous novelist and best-selling writer in Britain. In this book, the writer mainly talked about the dreary life in London and the life in family farm of the protagonist Cat and things happened between her and her bosses. In terms of the author Sophie Kinsella who enjoys a good reputation in literature field, I have read many works of her and l like her genre of writing very much. Therefore, I hope that through this translation practice, more and more domestic citizens will like her  excellent works, so that we  can span across the boundaries of time and space to a certain extent to immerse into the sea of various works.

It can be divided into two main parts, namely the translation and the thesis. The translation part are original text and translation of the two target chapters respectively. While the thesis part is about a 1000-word essay of translation practice  which  includes four small points. The first point made a brief introduction of these two translated chapters, including the characters, plots, etc. The second point described the process of translation, during which preparatory work like reading original book, consulting relevant background information are embodied and it also mentioned the functional equivalence theory adopted in the process. The third point displayed the problems and difficulties encountered in the process and solutions to them. The fourth point is the conclusion drawn from the practice.

本次英汉翻译实践材料取自于英国著名的小说家和畅销书作家索菲·金塞拉所著《我不太完美的生活》一书中的第二章和第三章。在这部小说中，作者主要描述了主人公卡特在伦敦沉闷的生活、在她家庭农场的生活以及和她两个老板之间发生的事情。小说的作者索菲·金塞拉在文学届享有盛誉，我之前读过很多她的作品，很喜欢她的风格，所以我希望通过此次翻译实践，能够让更多的国内读者喜欢她的作品，这样我们就可以在一定程度上跨越时间和空间的界限，一起沉浸在不同优秀文学作品的海洋之中。

本篇翻译报告共分为两个主要部分，即翻译部分和论文部分。翻译部分分别是目标文本的原文和译文；而论文部分则是关于一篇 1000 字的翻译实践论文，其中包括四个小点。第一点对这两个翻译章节进行了简短地介绍，包括人物、情节等。第二点描述了翻译过程，包括阅读原始书籍，咨询相关背景信息等前期工作的准备，也提及了在翻译过程中采用的等效翻译理论，第三点展示了翻译过程中遇到的问题和困难以及它们的解决方法。第四点是从翻译实践中得出的结论和心得体会。
