儿童文学作为文学的一个重要分支，其极大地影响并改变着少年儿童对异国文化的认知。优秀的儿童文学译作不仅能为我国儿童成长提供丰盛的精神食粮,而且对于促进国际间该领域的交流与进一步发展发挥着至关重要的作用。

《绳纹时代太平洋游记》是一本探险小说，适合青少年阅读。该作品讲述了主人公乔恩•克特和伙伴并肩前进、一起历经千难万险，乘船横穿太平洋最终到达阿拉斯加的探险故事。本次翻译实践节选书中的第一章节《肯纳威克人》进行翻译。翻译所选中的这一章节，主要向读者叙述了历险前发生的一些事件。该部分主要以“发现人类骨骼”为线索，随之对绳纹人的活动展开了一系列推测。全篇以朴实的叙述为主，给读者一种娓娓道来的感觉。

作者希望此小说在一定程度上能够促进青少年养成勇敢真诚、乐观无畏的意志品质，让更多的青少年去发现、探求真理以及引导他们建立对生活积极乐观独立的态度。

小论文主要分为四部分，第一部分是简要介绍，主要是对翻译作品的背景以及文章主旨作介绍；第二部分简要介绍翻译实践的过程；第三部分主要阐述翻译过程中遇到的问题及解决的依据和方法；第四部分是总结，此部分是对此次翻译实践的小结与思考。

INTRODUCTION

-As an important branch of literature, children’s literature greatly influences and changes children’s perception of exotic cultures. Excellent children’s literature translation can not only provide abundant spiritual food for the growth of children in our country, but also plays a vital role in promoting international exchange and further development in this field.

-In the Wake of the Jomon is an adventure novel which fits for the youth. It tells the story that the protagonist Jon Kurt and his partner go through the hardships and dangers side by side and finally cross the Pacific Ocean to Alaska. The first chapter Kennewick Man was chosen in this translation practice. The selected chapter mainly describes some events that occurred before the adventure. This part is mainly based on the clue “discover the human skeleton”, followed by a series of speculations on the activities of the Jomon people. The first chapter does not have a vivid depiction of characters，but a simple description throughout the entire chapter. 

-The author hopes that this adventure novel will promote the youth to develop optimistic and fearless qualities. Moreover, it is expected to motive more young men to discover and explore the truth, and guide them to be active and independent.

-The essay is divided into four parts. The first part is a brief introduction which is mainly about the background of the work and the purpose of the article. The second part briefly introduces the process of translation practice. The third part is about the problems and the solutions. The last part is the conclusion, which is the summary and the reflection of this translation practice.
